“Friendly fly fishing People” The owner, J.D. was there form the start making sure everything was taken care of. Him and the guide John were so helpful and had a great deal of knowledge about fly fishing. We took a float trip on the Madison River and this is something I will never forget.
“Awesome experience!” My husband and I did a guided fishing trip in August 2014. It was beautiful weather and our guide, Sam, was wonderful! Neither of us had ever fly fished before, and he was very patient and helpful and taught us the basics of fly fishing. He explained why he used certain flies and made it so much fun. We fished in the Gallatin, and then we fished a fork off of the Gallatin where we experienced dry fly fishing. Beautiful area, wonderful guide, and an overall exciting experience! When we return here, we will definitely be doing it again!
“Great shop and guides” Fished two guided trips through WTO in March. I’m a beginner and our guides, Dave and Nick, were great teachers and put us on the fish immediately. Day one was pretty extreme with 30 degree temps and 6 inches of snow. My buddy and I caught 40 fish in 4 hours. Day two was a bit milder and the action was every bit as good.

Headquartered on the Gallatin River, 1/2 Mile south of the turn off to Big Sky, Montana, Wild Trout Outfitters is just 41 miles south of Bozeman and 47 miles North of West Yellowstone on Highway 191. The Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport at Gallatin Field and West Yellowstone airports provide air transportation for our area.
