Montana Lake Fishing

A Still Water Float

The perfect choice for anglers looking to improve their casting skills while fly fishing in Montana. These trips also provide a perfect training ground to learn the proper techniques to fight and land large trout. Your guide will be prepared to match the hatch, while you cast to cruising trout as they gulp dry flies on the surface. If the trout are holding in deeper water, we usually target them with deep nymph rigs.

Fishing for trout is a skill and with our fly fishing guides you will be learning from the best. Our staff is one of the best in the country. Each member has his or her own unique passion for the sport of fly fishing, built from years of adventures on the water, and we would like nothing better than to help you make the most of your own fly fishing adventure.

Power Boat lake trip

We use Low sided drift boat’s and power boats while fishing for the Gulpers of Hebgen  and Ennis  Lakes ( to name a few). Many of our area lakes (some public and some private) can produce huge rainbow and brown trout. The term Gulper originated on Hebgen Lake and refers to the sound made by large trout from mid-June through August, as they inhale / gulp small mayflies from the surface.

In spring and fall, streamer fishing is very productive as trout gather at the inlet mouth prior to spawning. This is a trip for the strong intermediate or advanced fly fisher. Call us if you would like more information and we’ll talk.
