Montana Lake Fishing
A Still Water Float
The perfect choice for anglers looking to improve their casting skills while fly fishing in Montana. These trips also provide a perfect training ground to learn the proper techniques to fight and land large trout. Your guide will be prepared to match the hatch, while you cast to cruising trout as they gulp dry flies on the surface. If the trout are holding in deeper water, we usually target them with deep nymph rigs.
Fishing for trout is a skill and with our fly fishing guides you will be learning from the best. Our staff is one of the best in the country. Each member has his or her own unique passion for the sport of fly fishing, built from years of adventures on the water, and we would like nothing better than to help you make the most of your own fly fishing adventure.
Power Boat lake trip
We use Low sided drift boat’s and power boats while fishing for the Gulpers of Hebgen and Ennis Lakes ( to name a few). Many of our area lakes (some public and some private) can produce huge rainbow and brown trout. The term Gulper originated on Hebgen Lake and refers to the sound made by large trout from mid-June through August, as they inhale / gulp small mayflies from the surface.
In spring and fall, streamer fishing is very productive as trout gather at the inlet mouth prior to spawning. This is a trip for the strong intermediate or advanced fly fisher. Call us if you would like more information and we’ll talk.
Family Fun and Fish
This trip utilizes our 2019 22 foot Lund triple pontoon family fun and fish platform/AKA party boat. This boat is set up for family fun and fishing for up to six people. We realize that with a mixed group of people or a family not everybody wants to fly fish in Montana. This trip offers family/group fun in the sun on Hebgen Lake. For the non-fishing group plan on a beautiful day on Hebgen Lake. Let your guide tour you all over the lake. With over 65 miles of shoreline Hebgen Lake offers beautiful scenery wildlife and water foul.
For the more adventurous we can break out a set of water skis to try your luck at water-skiing at 6500 feet above sea level. For the less adventurous take a ride on one of our inflatable Tow behind’s. Want to do some fishing, no problem spin fishing and flyfishing equipment is on the boat. All you need to do is bring your fishing license. What you’re hungry, let’s barbecue Burgers are Bratwurst which would you prefer. A perfect way to spend a summer day with friends and family.
