JD and his crew at Wild Trout Outfitters in Big Sky Montana are world class. We went at the end of December so it was cold, but Wild Trout Outfitters provided all the gear we needed for our half day. Nick was our guide and he has enough fly fishing knowledge to fill a book! I’ve been with other guides that just take you out to the fish and that’s about it. Nick was much more than that. He covered the “why” behind the “how” of various techniques. He had some top secret rigs he learned guiding in Alaska that had us catching fish right away. My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with the day and the results.

Michael Brooks

Spent a full day wade fishing the Gallatin with Nick. He was excellent. Very patient, timely with his instructions, details about where the fish are holding, explained his setups in detail including building his leaders and why he uses certain flies. He helped me become a better fisherman that day and certainly a better caster. We caught plenty of fish but it would’ve been a great day even if it was slow. JD helped get everything setup. Highly recommended and I can’t wait to get back out with them.
